It has been downloaded over 6.8 million times by April, with 2022 accounting for the majority of the downloads. Andreessen Horowitz led a $30 million investment round for BeReal. BeReal is the first uncontrollable social networking platform to share real-life photos.

“Great concept, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes. The app is in desperate need of some tender loving care. The My Friends tab is stuck on the loading screen. Even after “logging in,” reinstalling the program forces you to retake a day’s snapshot as a “first bereal.” There are a few other issues. I’d like to see compatibility with people in different time zones throughout the world, as well as different times for different people, to eliminate lag and keep the app interesting more than once per day.
